The constitute of being a woman derives from her prediction of her being, and under certain circumstances, many women around the world still struggle to achieve personal dreams and ambitions from the remnance of the social constructs due to patriarchal beliefs. This unfortunate reality influenced the artist herself, being dealt with these issues arriving her female adulthood. Being confronted with her feelings of frustrations and anger about this division, Maryam chose to paint a 2-piece painting embodying a man and wo-man, playing within oil pastels and acrylic paint and intentional colors breaking these 'gender norms'

She highlights the heart of a woman, laying down with a tired expression, almost like she is at the brink of exhaustion, despite her blazing heart still full of life and waiting to be given a chance
