Sweetheart(2025), is a series of unfolding the artist's sexuality and self assurance, leaving space for open conversations most are uncomfortable to speak about-love. During her overseas exchange programme in UAL, Maryam explores the layers to the definition of romanticism.

Representing the 5 stages of love in romantic relationships, from left to right, and right to left. This means the performance aspect of what romance is depicted to be from society’s eye, and represented in media (love is meant to ‘save you’, to solve your problems, it doesn’t). True love’s kiss, shared by ‘Sweetheart’s, is meant to be the most intimate movement/act for a couple. Being aroace is challenging because our perception of love is alienated from the majority of how it should be perceived; enlightening, rejuvenating, fulfilling. This work also reflects the temperaments of romance as a whole, a  state of reflection and rewriting of concepts taught on the concept of love.  Love is an ununified, unquantifiable, lucid feeling that deals with multiple definitions according to each individual. Therefore nobody truly knows love, we only know what we wish it to be. Aroace and Others, we are not too different from each other.
